Dental Veneers

Dental veneers are more used in the area of cosmetic dentistry more than in other areas of dentistry. They could also be used to complete orthodontic treatments because since orthodontic procedures basically address the underlying structures of the teeth, dental veneers could be used as a final touch.

Dental veneers are usually made of porcelain or composite materials and they are thin and shell-like in appearance. They are attached to the teeth using dental cement. The materials used for this veneers are carefully selected because of their ability to bond with the underlying teeth making them very stable. And as long as they are taken care of they could last for as long as 15 years.

Dental veneers are usually employed in cases of massive tooth decoration, and in case of broken or uneven teeth. Veneers have become an attractive option in several cases because they are easy to produce and relatively easy to put in place. Moreover, since very little preparation is needed for the teeth in order to use veneers. They are less invasive as compared to the other procedures and are less time consuming in manufacturing and application as they are usually manufactured in the laboratories by the dentists. Having similar colour to the enamel of tooth they are very important to improving the overall aesthetics of the face.
